If you’re searching for a home this spring, get ready for a fight.
Bidding wars are likely because mortgage rates are low, demand is strong, and the amount of homes for sale is down – way down.
“January has already been strong with prices up, home sales up, (and) listings …down quite a bit,” says Daryl Fairweather, chief economist with RedFin. “So homebuyers are more likely to face competition.” She thinks sales will still be strong, simply because more buyers will pull the trigger on buying homes.’

Boise ranked as 20th fastest growing city in the U.S.
BOISE, Idaho — While population growth is slowing nationwide, some U.S. cities are booming. Many of them are in the Southeast and West.

Boise is the fastest-growing area in the U.S., Forbes says. And it will keep growing.

By all metrics, Boise is booming, according to a new Forbes list of the fastest-growing cities in the country.
Idaho’s capital swept the competition, exceeding 2017 expansion projections “by nearly ever metric that matters,” the business magazine wrote. And according to Moody’s Analytics, the firm that provides data for Forbes’ annual list, Boise’s growth spurt is likely to continue. Boise ranked 11th on last year’s list.
